Nat Turner showed them that they were ready and prepared to change their living conditions.

In 1849 Harriet Tubman escaped from her Maryland plantation to Pennsylvania with the help of the Underground Railroad. Following her successful escape, she made 19 trips into the south and helped free over 300 slaves. 1963 Try Me Malcolm X Meaning: Malcolm X was an African American leader in the civil rights movement, minister and supporter of Black nationalism. In 1963, Malcolm X gave a speech at the University of California, Berkeley, and declared that racial separatism as the best approach to the problems facing black America. He urged his fellow Black Americans to protect themselves against white aggression “by any means necessary”. Try Me is a fitting phrase for Malcolm X because he never backed down from fighting for civil rights.

2012 Yes We Can, Again — Barack Obama: Following his 4 year presidency, Obama was re-elected for another 4 year term in 2012, making him the first Black president of the United States of America to be president for two consecutive terms.

2020 I’m Speaking Kamala Harris Meaning: Kamala Harris’ “I’m speaking” phrase came from the 2020 Vice Presidential debate with Mike Pence. During the debate, Kamala Harris was asked a question. As she was answering the question, Mike Pence interrupted Kamala Harris. At that point, Kamala Harris responded to Mike Pence and said “Mr Vice President, I’m speaking”.
